Following a successful Beaver Valley Rocks curling event held in April 2014, a steering committee of the newly formed non profit Blue Mountains Curling Centre has been working with Town Recreation staff and a lot has been accomplished.

  • The group has been granted Probationary Membership in the Ontario Curling Association
  • Ice time has been arranged with the Town at the Beaver Valley Arena for the kick-off event at the end of March and for a number of weekends in the 2018/2019 season
  • Training for arena staff to change regular ice to curling ice is also in place

With the high costs of managing a curling facility and ice time available at the arena, there is a great opportunity to work with Town staff to find a way to organize local curling events going forward. We hope the community can come together to help support this initiative.
